Cromolyn (Intal®) is a medication that keeps mast cells (cells that react with allergens that cause allergic symptoms) from releasing histamines which cause inflammation. Cromolyn is a safe drug with minimal side effects. In order for cromolyn to work, it must be used every day, even if your child appears well.
